Plans for pub by former Rangers player beside Ibrox Stadium refused

However, the council has refused the plans on the basis they are not “in accordance with the Development Plan”.

The planning decision notice said: “The proposal was not considered to be in accordance with the Development Plan and there were no material considerations which outweighed the proposal’s variance with the Development Plan.”

The decision notice also highlighted the proposed pub’s impact on “residential amenity” and its proximity to residential flats as reasons for the refusal.

Arfield left Rangers at the end of the season after five years with the club.
