A pub from the classic TV show Heartbeat has gone up for sale for £175,000.

The Goathland Hotel in Whitby was featured as the Aidensfield Arms in the television series.

The show was set in the idyllic fictional village of Aidensfield on the North Yorkshire Moors and many of the storylines centred around the pub.

The bubbly barmaid Gina Ward was played by Tricia Penrose from 1993 until the series ended in 2010.

The property is on the main road running through the village, after the shops and just before the steam railway.

The Goathland Hotel notes on its website that filming took place inside the bar for the first four years.

They then built an exact replica set of the bar interior and all major locations in a studio, due to the programme’s success and because it was more convenient for filming, but the hotel was still used for all exterior shots.
