Hibs solve goalkeeper crisis after injuries to David Marshall and Jojo Wallacott

HIBS have relieved the glove crisis threatening to derail the start of their cinch premiership campaign this weekend.

Injuries to both David Marshall and Jojo Wallacott on Thursday night and the resounding 6-1 Uefa Conference League qualifying win over Inter L’Escalades left Lee Johnson with just one fit goalkeeper.

Max Boruc took over form the crocked keepers after Scotland hero Marshall pulled up in the warm-up and Wollacott pulled a muscle in the early exchanges.

But now Hibs have moved quickly to resolve their issue.

They have recalled youngster Murray Johnson from his loan deal at Queen of the South.

The 18-year-old has played just once for Marvin Bartley’s side but will be back as seven day cover for Boruc ahead of this Sunday’s opener against St Mirren.

Hibs confirmed the move that saw Johnson return and explained his deal can be extended on a week-by-week basis if necessary.
