Actor Tom Hollander to have first baby at 55 – after he and ex-fiancee rekindled their romance in lockdown
Actor Tom Hollander is to become a dad for the first time at the age of 55, after rekindling his romance with interior designer Fran Hickman.
The Mail on Sunday can reveal that the star of The Night Manager is ‘beyond thrilled’ that Ms Hickman is expecting their first baby, which is understood to be due within weeks.
Their news comes after they got back together during lockdown, ten years after they called off their engagement in 2010.
Last week the couple were seen enjoying lunch near Mr Hollander’s home in Notting Hill, West London. Ms Hickman was dressed in a checked shirt, leggings and a pair of white plimsolls, and her bump was clearly visible.
Mr Hollander, who turns 56 in three weeks’ time, arrived on his bicycle. One onlooker said: ‘They looked very much like the happy couple. Tom was seen putting his arms around Fran quite a lot.’

Ms Hickman moved into Mr Hollander’s £2million flat during the pandemic and friends say ‘she never left’.
In 2021 Mr Hollander, whose 5ft 4in height earned him the nickname ‘sex thimble’, was seen having dinner with Ms Hickman at Mayfair restaurant Scott’s.
Friends have previously told of their hopes that the actor, who starred in the BBC’s sitcom Rev and thriller The Night Manager, and played an English expat in Sky Atlantic drama The White Lotus, would propose to Ms Hickman, but it appears he has not yet.
During his time apart from Ms Hickman, Mr Hollander dated film-maker Jemima Goldsmith in 2013, but that ended and she later dated comedian Russell Brand.
And in the early 2000s he had a relationship with fashion designer and former model Daphne Guinness – the daughter of peer and businessman Jonathan Guinness.
Mr Hollander gave a candid insight into his life in 2020, when an article he wrote for The Sunday Times went viral, just after he and Ms Hickman got back together.
He was lauded for his honest confessions, including night trips to the loo.
He wrote: ‘I wake at 3 or 4am. Not because I’m like Mrs Thatcher, but because I need to pee. I pee in the darkness using my phone screen to illuminate the target.’
